Sony DADC in the UK participates at Biodiversity Day

Road to Zero is Sony’s global environmental plan, striving to achieve a zero environmental footprint throughout the lifecycle of our products and business activities by 2050. We at Sony DADC are also committed to the defined targets and actions, one of them being the promotion of biodiversity, which is the existence of many different kinds of plants and animals in an environment.

Since 2015, each year our colleagues in the UK have participated in a Biodiversity Day at the Firs Firm Park. Along with the organizer Toni Guiver and her team, they got to action on 11th July.

The volunteers had lots to get on with throughout the day, including watering some flagging plants and saplings as well as clearing invasive weeds, holly, brambles and ivy from designated areas to improve the space for future growth. They also worked on creating and maintaining woodland paths in and around the spinney as well as along the ancient hedgerows, making it easier accessible and as an animal’s shelter.

A great day was had by all and our colleagues in the UK will definitely be signing themselves up for next year.

A big thank you to everybody, who supported this year’s Biodiversity Day.
