DVD Replication
Sony DADC is committed to providing the highest quality DVD products in the industry. To assure
optimum quality, Sony DADC manufactures according to the DVD Specifications for Read-Only Disc and
conducts statistical process control and systematic defect sampling throughout the manufacturing
process. Sony DADC also performs data validation between the customer's input media and samples of
the final product.

IMAGE FORMATS ACCEPTED
Images must be written in DDP2.0 or CMF format.
TYPES OF INPUT MEDIA
The following specifications describe the input media formats Sony DADC currently accepts for
DVD Mastering.

DLT III,IV
Sony DADC accepts the DLT III and DLT IV tapes that are readable on a DLT4000,
DLT7000 or DLT8000 drive. Images supplied on this media must be written in DDP2.0, DDP2.1 or CMF
format.

AIT 1
Sony DADC accepts AIT 1 tapes with image content formatted in DDP2.0, CMF, or Sony Format
1.0.

DVD (Replicated Disc)
Sony DADC accepts unencrypted manufactured DVDs for mastering. Encrypted discs are not
accepted. The media should be high quality free of scratches and imperfections.

DVD (Recordable Disc)
a) DVD-R for Authoring is accepted for Encrypted CMF disc
b) DVD±R/RW (single or Dual Layer) media are accepted with caution that not all software
creates a good Master disc and should be tested before submitting an order.
*Sony DADC cannot accept Multi-Session/Multi-Border DVD-R as input media.

FORMATTING SERVICES
Sony DADC provides DVD ROM formatting and video authoring services. Sony DADC receives a wide
variety of data and media formats including TAR and Microsoft backup archival sets.
