Digital Copy
Simplify portability with Digital Copy from eBridge
Digital Copy is a DVD-ROM application to be added to a standard DVD-Video and enables the end user to legally transfer protected content from the disc to his/her computer. The number of file transfers is decided by the content publisher and monitored through online web reporting.
Digital Copy has scored a resounding success, especially in the U.S. market where it has been available for some time. However, like many first generation applications it has scope for evolution and possesses considerable unexploited marketing potential.
To make the technology more consumer friendly, Sony DADC offers its customers a version of Digital Copy which integrates alongside the company’s eBridge solution portfolio.
The beauty of Digital Copy from eBridge lies in its simplicity. Postscribed ID (PID), a unique code, is applied to each disc during the manufacture process. The PID is automatically read by the player and does away with the need for cumbersome serial codes.
So, at the click of a mouse, the consumer can copy the movie over to a laptop hard drive or many other media storage devices.
